Mizumo Ohara (AMDA Headquarters)
On 9 September 2023, AMDA Philippines organized a comprehensive health-related relief effort in the City of Parañaque located in Metro Manila, the central part of the Philippines’ capital.
AMDA Philippines collaborated with organizations such as Red Cross Philippines and Rotary Club in carrying out the aid work for local residents. While 300 people dropped in for free medical consultation services, 100 pairs of spectacles, 450 sets of foodstuffs, and wheelchairs were distributed to the residents at no cost.
Likewise, AMDA Philippines conducted a similar relief effort entitled, “Medical, Surgical, and Mental Mission” on the morning of 16 September in San Juan, also located in Metro Manila. The aid activities included free health check-ups, distribution of medicine, wheelchairs and food items, as well as barbering services. While recreational activities such as storytelling and book-colouring were organized for children, the Zumba-dance session was also held. Again, the mission was a collaborative effort between AMDA Philippines, the local municipality, Lions Club, and other organizations.
Through both missions, the smiles on local people’s faces proved that the relief activities were of use to them.
