Typhoon Hagibis: Messages from our international partners

Publication date:2019-10-31

Our partners kindly sent us sympathetic messages from every corner of the globe in regards to the recent typhoon which struck Japan in early October. Thank you so much once again for your heartfelt concern and support.

Major General, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hong Son
Director, Military Hospital 175 (Vietnam)

"I hope that you, your colleagues, family, relatives and friends who are currently in the Kanto and Tohoku areas are all safe and sound, as the Typhoon Hagibis struck these areas in the previous days. I was much worried when I saw the photos and news of the terrible destruction on NHK as well as Vietnamese news agencies’ channels. On behalf of Military Hospital 175’s staff, or the people of Vietnam, allow me to send our best wishes to you and to the people in the affected areas. We hope and strongly believe that the people of Japan will soon return to a prosperous life as has been before the typhoon."

Mr. Agha Ali Javad
General Manager, National Rural Support Programme (Pakistan)

"We have come to know through TV news that at least 19 people have died, and another 16 are missing as Typhoon Hagibis lashed Japan, including the Tokyo metropolitan area on Saturday, with many rivers overflowing into residential areas across a wide area of the country. On this occasion NRSP wish to share with you the feelings of sorrow and sympathy with the affected people. Kindly let us know of anything that NRSP can do to support the Japanese people and AMDA to combat the effects of this widespread disaster."

Ms. Ann Lin
Office of International Cooperation, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan

"We are sorry to learn from the news that Typhoon No. 19 caused serious disasters in east Japan. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy for all the loss. Hope everything gets better in a short time. Please keep us informed should anything is needed."

Dr. Gloria Jumamil-Mercado
Ex-Dean/Vice Senior President, Development Academy of the Philippines

"First of all, I want to let you all know that we are hugging you all in prayers and wishing you all good health as you go with your noble tasks of helping your people severely hit by Typhoon Hagibis.  If you need volunteer doctors, there are interested young doctors who worked with you during the Typhoon Haiyan. Let us know."

Mr. Leoncio Evasco Jr.
Former Cabinet Secretary of the Philippines

"Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco remembers you, Dr. Suganami, with fondness as he recalled how you helped Bohol during the earthquake when he was still serving as Mayor of Bohol. He is expressing his heartfelt gratitude."
