On this occasion, allow me to announce to you that I have stepped down from my post as the head of AMDA Japan and welcomed Dr. Takushi Sato to take over my work. Although I will continue to serve as President of AMDA International, Dr. Sato will be steering AMDA Japan’s activities from now on.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of our organization, and for myself who will be turning 77 years of age, I thought it would be the right time to decide how I should lead my further path of life.

At the opportune juncture of our organization’s 40th anniversary in 2024, I had the extreme honor of receiving the baton to spearhead our work from Dr. Shigeru Suganami, the former president and founder of our organization, the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA).
When I was growing up, I saw immense human suffering around the world, where conflicts were occurring one after another in Africa,
While the situation in Ukraine has been increasingly worrying, the scenes we see on TV or YouTube seem to be unreal given the fact that they are all happening in 21st century Europe.
We are deeply saddened to announce that our colleague, Ms. Kazuko Taketani, passed away on 26 January 2022 after a long battle with illness. Serving as AMDA Volunteer Center chief until her last minute, she departed at the age of 74. Her funeral took place on the 28th with her beloved family and close ones in attendance.

At 11AM on 13 November 2019, a personal hygiene workshop was held in the quarters of Japan India Friendship Medical Center (JIFMC) for the residents of the adjacent Danpur village in the suburb of Bodhgaya, Bihar. JIFMC has been collaborating with AMDA on local humanitarian initiatives in the region. The event was co-organized by AMDA and Ecoles de la Terre, a charity organization led by Mr. Rajesh who happens to live nearby.
