AMDA Emergency Response #6 – West Japan Torrential Rain

Publication date:2018-07-13

On 11th July 2018, AMDA supported the taxi service for the disabled people which has been run by Soja City. From Sunwork Soja (evacuation shelter) to nearby medical facilities, the service allows the transportation of people in wheelchairs and those who cannot walk. AMDA personnel helped the users to get on and off the vehicle.

Meanwhile, AMDA nurses have been carrying on with the mobile medical consultation service in the said shelter, assessing the medical needs and health conditions of the evacuees.

In Okada Elementary School where the residents of Mabicho have been seeking shelter, AMDA's massage service has begun. The people who used the service said they were greatly helped by it as they had been exhausted from clearing up their affected houses. As the days have passed and the temperatures have been topping 30 degrees C everyday, the fatigue of the evacuees has been increasing. AMDA team is planning to continue the service on the following day as well.
