Today, 25 August, one AMDA coordinator departed from Okayama station on schedule to head towards Kansai International Airport. The coordinator is currently scheduled to arrive at the Indian capital of Delhi at 9:20pm the same day (Indian Standard Time). She will then hold a meeting with local cooperative bodies before heading to Trivandrum in Kerala State on 27 August.
This coordinator was also dispatched to conduct support activities in Bihar State, India in August 2017 after the flooding there. This time, she is currently scheduled to stay there for around two weeks. “It is still monsoon season in India so it is feared that heavy rains may continue, but we need to listen and respond to the needs of the victims”, she said.
Furthermore, AMDA has decided to dispatch an additional coordinator, who will depart from Japan on 26 August. The two coordinators will both go to Trivandrum.
