First GPSP Conference Held in the Philippines

Publication date:2016-03-29

Global Partnership for Sustainable Peace, in short GPSP, held it`s first official and international conference from March 10-12 at the Development Academy of the Philippines Conference Center in Tagaytay City, Philippines.
The conference was a result of almost a yearlong preparation and vision-casting of AMDA president and founder Dr. Shigeru Suganami. The conference objective was to gather like-minded individuals, institutions and organizations to understand, discuss, identify projects and promote GPSP concept. Dr. Suganami explained the concept and goals of GPSP and the principle of “Open Sogo-Fujo” as a tool to achieve World Peace which by GPSP`s definition is “the situation that helps to realize today`s family life and tomorrow`s hope.” There were about 20 participants in total, from the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) International and leaders from various sectors in the government and non-government organizations in the Philippines.
Several activities were prepared by the AMDA partner the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) through its Graduate School headed by Dr. Gloria Jumamil-Mercado during the two-days event. As a first step GPSP will be registered in the Philippines and will have Dr. Suganami, President of AMDA International, as the founder and head of GPSP and Dr. Gloria Mercado from DAP as the Director.
