AMDA Malino Farm in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, has recently tapped into SNS and E-commerce to increase the sales of its organic farm produce. Because expanding sales routes had always been a challenge for the farm since its launch in 2014, the expectations are high as to how the latest tech could help promote the products to the wider market.
AMDA Malino Farm was started by two local farmers who acquired the organic farming know-how in Japan. Learning the latest agricultural techniques also allowed them to combine what was traditionally practiced in Indonesia, which later resulted in a creation of a unique farming method. In recent years, they have revived “ase lompo,” a native rice species which had virtually been lost for many years, to make it the farm’s main product.
AMDA has just received the activity report of the farm titled “Stories from the Field” which was put together by Prof. Dr. Dorothea Agnes Rampisela, a professor at Indonesia’s Hasanuddin University. Having overseen the project since its beginning, Dr. Rampisela has served as an advisor to AMDA Indonesia for many years.
