
In response to the devastating quake that struck central Myanmar on 28 March, AMDA has sent a medical team to Yangon to assess the relief needs.
AMDA’s medical workers comprising one doctor and two nurses will leave Japan on the evening of 4 April. Upon arrival in Myanmar, the team will meet local partners for information gathering.
On 2 April, UNOCHA announced that the death toll from the magnitude 7.7 quake topped 2,500, with over 5,000 people injured. More than 140,000 buildings have reportedly been destroyed or damaged.
