  • AMDA Emergency Relief #53: Crisis in Ukraine

    Publication date:2026-02-25

“The Ravages of War and the Lives of the People” – The Ukraine humanitarian crisis marks four full years since its start

On 24 February 2022, the peaceful lives of Ukrainians were abruptly disrupted by an act of aggression, forcing many to flee their homes.

At the onset of the crisis, AMDA began by working with other aid organizations in neighboring Hungary to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian refugees. Since then, the support activities have grown more diversified, eventually shifting to helping internally displaced people and visitors to medical facilities in Ukraine’s western and eastern regions.

Dynasty Medical Center in Kharkiv is one such example that strives to deliver medical aid to evacuees from the nation’s eastern areas, where fierce battles continue. With no prospect of an end to the war, AMDA’s financial assistance and item donations have enabled some of its patients to

As three years have already passed since the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, the protracted situation has put a significant mental burden on evacuees. Repercussions of the conflict have forced them to face financial difficulties and disruptions in family lives, so much so that the need for emotional support has been surging.

While some families go through family break-ups, there are men and women who are singlehandedly raising several children. Some wives seem to be at a loss as their husbands cannot work due to their disabilities, and there are people

It wasn’t until the crisis occurred that it started accepting evacuees from the east.
