AMDA Emergency Relief for Ecuador Earthquake 1

In response to the massive earthquake (mag.7.8) that struck Ecuador on April 17th, AMDA has decided to conduct medical relief in the disaster-stricken area. The quake has caused 413 deaths and over 2,500 people injured; mag.5-class strong aftershocks are still continuing. The Government of Ecuador estimates that the death toll and the number of injured people will increase as some of the victims are still trapped under the rubble.

AMDA will be sending one coordinator from the headquarters in Okayama, Japan, to work with AMDA chapters in the Americas region for further assistance.
