Publication date:2015-08-16

Torrential monsoon rain began in last July brought widespread flood damages and landslides in Myanmar. In response to the devastation, AMDA decided to dispatch a nurse and implement relief activities collaborating with our local partner organization, Myanmar Medical Association (MMA).

On August 13th, AMDA nurse left Japan and arrived in Yangon on the 15th August 2015 and joined MMA staff. According their information and the media, more than one million people are affected and over 100 casualties are reported. Additionally, even though the water is subsiding, there are many damaged roads and bridges left behind.
The joint medical team of MMA and AMDA is visiting Ah thoke village in Pathein city, located 130 kilometer far from Yangon in order to conduct mobile clinic and distribution on the 16th.
